Helga Myhr

Helga Myhr - with Eva Pfitzenmeier/Vera Sonne/Karoline Wallace (NO)

Sunday 11. January

We are so lucky that folk musician Helga Myhr has put together a brand new ensemble for All Ears! Her new band consist of Eva Pfitzenmaier,
Vera Sonne and
Karoline Wallace - three of Norway's most exciting singers crossing boundaries in improvisation/folk music/contemporary music.

Through this ensemble, she is investigating the vocal and rhythmic traditions from her home Hallingdal, by looking into melodies and motives from 'hallingspringaren', woven together by the singer's improvisational interpretations and spontaneous whims.

Helga Myhr is a highly regarded Hardanger fiddle player and singer. She has participated in a number of ensembles and has played in a variety of genres. Her solo album “Natten veller seg ut” was released in the autumn of 2019 on the Motvind Records label, and was nominated for a Norwegian Grammy Award (Spellemannsprisen). Myhr plays in several groups and ensembles, including the band Morgonrode, which won a Norwegian Grammy in 2019. She is also a member of Kvedarkvintetten, Dei kjenslevare and a duo together with Tanja Orning.
