The Electric Dentist Chair ^(NO)

Morten Minothi Kristiansen and Ulrik Ibsen Thorsrud's interactive and exclusive concert installation The Electric Dentist Chair is visiting All Ears! 

One person at a time gets to experience physically immersive and sensuous music in a rebuilt dentist chair from the 1950s. The participant takes a seat in the chair and is covered with a blanket of speakers, while the sound comes from a 100-year-old, heavily modified pedal organ packed with electronics. The organ sends out sound waves and vibrations that can be felt in both the chair and the blanket. A “sound shower” completes the experience, adding a rich palette of resonances. The music is shamelessly improvised, drawing on both noise and electro-acoustic traditions.
